About Me
Here I am, hopefully this will be a great deal more when I really get around to this, however, at the moment I’ll just blab.
My name is, obviously, Chris Elliott, and I am from Shelburne, Nova Scotia. I’ve spent a good deal of time in Halifax, Nova Scotia at school, where I was trained to be a Network Admin. I worked for a year in the small town of Lockeport for a fast growing electronics company name Allendale Electronics. However, the small town thing wasn’t working great for me (almost everyone I know lives in Halifax), so I took a leap and wound up in the city, where I’m currently working at Research In Motion, aka BlackBerry.
I run a website, Fractured Element which I am struggling to do something with. In the near future it will host my new blog, and who knows what else. While I plan to offer many different services there, the main attraction will hopefully be my blog and photos.
While I was trained to be a NetAdmin, I find that I’m a much more proficient web monkey, and have spent a good deal of my freetime perusing PHP and SQL, creating dynamic websites + CMS. I’m also trying to become a squire in the art of Web Standards and CSS. I’ve been inspired by people such as Douglas Bowman and Dave Shea to create welcoming, artistic, yet correct websites which can be viewed by all. I also spend a small amount of time working on graphic art, and some amateur photography.
Outside of the computer world, I dive into music. I’ve been told I play guitar quite well, and I’ve been attempting drums, bass and piano (to an extent), recently. My musical influences include Alter Bridge, Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Steve Vai, Foo Fighters, Joe Satriani and my brother and father, whom are both excellent guitarists.
While it appears I’m quite into the Metal genre, I can also be heard listening to Avril Lavigne, and Coldplay, so my tastes are definitely not strict..
On Wikipedia, I can usually be spotted updating articles about Shelburne, Nova Scotia, and their surrounding areas. Most of the pictures on these pages were most likely taken by me.
